Half Marathon Training Week 7: Run 26 – Run Free in Berlin!

I skipped my intervals on Wednesday for a very special run: Nike invited some girls to “run free” in the closed Spreepark in Berlin, a former theme park! It was a really funny 5k and the location was very unique (as you can see on the pictures)! Nike also presented the brand new Nike Free Flyknit, a pretty awesome looking running shoe that you’re supposed to wear without socks! I will definately have to try if they are even as comfortable and functional as they’re looking 😉

I’m really glad to finally have met my facebook-running-friend Nicole in real life! She is very inspiring as she is fast like the wind while I am just creeping behind like a turtle 😉 We ran the whole “race course” together, talking all the time. She didn’t seemed to get out of breath running on a pace of 6:00/k, while I had to fight hard through the run – but because we were talking that much I didn’t notice how the kilometres passed by and when we headed directly to the finish line I was quite surprised that we were already finished! And of course I was tired, because normally I don’t talk while running at this speed 😉

After the race Nike gave away free water, watermelon, bananas, apples and: fresh popcorn! Honestly, this was crazy 😉 It was such a sweet idea, just like the Disney- balloons everywhere!

Hey Isa, you have to be a fan of Nike’s Facebook Fanpages. They are posting events like this so you can register for it. And of course I will be telling you about runs and so on on my blog 🙂
